ABOUT ME
I was born in 1962, on the fourteenth of March, in the lovely city of Yargara, in the Republic of Moldavia.
It was my mother who first taught me in the Art of Painting. She was a vary brilliant woman who had a particular good eye for beauty.
From the time I was just a small child, I liked to draw what I saw in Nature, in particular landscapes, flowers and the female figure, because in Nature I found what was the most precious of divine creations.
At the age of nine, I was exposed for the first time, academically, to the world of Art. I was enrolled in an Art School, where I had the opportunity to take classes in drawing, painting, composition, sculpture and, most importantly, Art History.
Later, I traveled to the capital city of Moldavia to take Art classes sponsored by the Cultural Ministry. Here I studied a variety of techniques as well as such courses as perspective, calligraphy, freehand, esthetics and decoration.
As I was introduced to the world of color and art, I realized that I had discovered a way to express my most important feelings, especially the joy of my character and the positive feelings I had toward life and happiness.
From the age of eighteen, my painting had a professional style, as I was working, as an artist, in a variety of ways, as an interior and exterior designer, in the theatre, for offices and cultural centers. All of these experiences enriched my creativity and my ability of expression through painting. I was very lucky along the way to have met many people with deep knowledge of the arts, who were kind enough to share with me their wisdom.
When I was twenty six, I traveled to Pribaltica in the Republic of Letonia, where I would live for the next eight years. Here I met my husband and had two sons. I became quite inspired by the architecture in this new country and used it in my drawings and paintings. Also during this time, because of the peace and tranquility of the climate there, found myself drawn to pastels and concentrated on these colors in my painting.
After the fall of the Soviet Union, my family and I moved to the Ukraine, my husband’s home. Here we lived in Ivano-Frankovsk for the next six years, in the Karpotos Mountains, surrounded by nature – crystal clear rivers and air so pure it begs you to relax. This of course inspired me in my creativity and created within me a deep connection to the beauty of my husband’s homeland.
We emigrated to Argentina in the year 2000 and this new country welcomed us with open arms. I never felt like a foreigner here, as the people and landscape are similar to that of Moldovia. Even the spirit of the Porteños, with their dances, songs, and colors, shows the happiness that I felt in my native country.
I feel most comfortable working with Oil and Watercolor, although I can work fine with Acrylic. What I like most of all, however, is to paint Oil with the modern technique of the Spatula, as it gives me expressive freedom on the canvas.
I am an artist against sadness and nostalgia. This is why I use pure colors in my Tango collection, so I can express the movement and warmth that I feel.
My works are part of private collections in a variety of coutries, such as Spain, Australia, Italy, the United States, Germany, England, South Africa and Greece, among others.
